MINSK, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- A command and staff exercise with the Western Operational Command began Tuesday in Belarus, the country's Defense Ministry said.
The ministry further said that the exercise's primary objective is to train management bodies, units, and military formations of the operational command in jointly addressing tasks during the preparation and execution of strategic military operations.
During the exercise, issues related to the management of troop groupings in the context of securing the state border of Belarus, maintaining a state of military readiness, and combating light aviation and drones will be practiced.
The ministry also mentioned that the exercise will include the use of unmanned aerial vehicle systems, camouflage techniques, ensuring survivability, restoring combat capability, and providing comprehensive support for troop actions.
The maneuvers are set to conclude on Sept. 18. ■
