MOSCOW/KIEV, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday that its armed forces had carried out an overnight strike on Ukrainian drone and missile production facilities, military-industrial enterprises and a logistics center in Kiev.
Ukraine reported that at least nine people were killed and 28 others injured in the ballistic missile attacks.
The strike involved high-precision weapons launched from land and sea, as well as attack unmanned aerial vehicles, the Russian defense ministry said in a statement posted on social media.
Among the targets was the Kiev Electronic Industry Assembly and Components Enterprise, which manufactures assemblies, electronic components and parts for Ukraine's Neptune-MD guided missiles, FP-7 and FP-9 operational-tactical missiles, and the Grom-2 missile system.
Some 17 people were hospitalized, while the rest received treatment at the scene or in outpatient clinics, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote in a post on Telegram. ■
