MADRID, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid confirmed on Tuesday that veteran striker Antoine Griezmann will leave the club at the end of the season to join MLS side, Orlando City.
Griezmann traveled to the United States with the club's permission after Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid to complete his move to the American side.
"Atletico de Madrid and Orlando City SC have reached an agreement over the transfer of Antoine Griezmann to the American club beginning next season. The forward traveled to Orlando, with the club's permission, during the two days of rest granted to the first team, to finalize his contract with the Florida side," explained the Atletico Madrid website.
The 35-year-old French international will leave Atletico after 10 seasons (with a two-year hiatus at FC Barcelona in the middle), which have seen him become the club's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals, while so-far making 488 appearances in red and white. ■
