MOSCOW, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 14 others injured in a multi-vehicle road accident in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan on Sunday, local authorities said.
According to preliminary information from the regional prosecutor's office, the accident occurred at around noon local time near the village of Kichuchatovo in the Almetyevsky district, when a passenger car crossed into the oncoming lane, triggering multiple vehicle collisions, including a minibus.
Two passengers traveling in the minibus died at the scene. Three of the 14 injured people are in serious condition, TASS news agency reported, citing law enforcement officials.
An investigation has been launched, according to authorities. ■
