OSLO, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Norway's economy is projected to grow by 2.0 percent in 2025, with growth seen at 2.1 percent in 2026, according to key figures released by the Ministry of Finance ahead of the presentation of the National Budget for 2026 on Wednesday.

Economic activity is growing faster than last year, and unemployment remains low, the ministry said in a press release. Projections also indicate a gradual decline in consumer price index inflation and continued real wage growth, according to the press release.

The registered unemployment rate is projected at 2.1 percent in both 2025 and 2026. Headline inflation is forecast to decline from 2.8 percent this year to 2.2 percent next year, while core inflation is expected to ease from 2.9 percent to 2.5 percent over the same period, the figures showed.

Fund spending for 2026 is estimated at 579 billion Norwegian kroner (57.27 billion U.S. dollars), or 13.1 percent of trend GDP for Norway, up from 12.6 percent this year. The allocation includes continued support to Ukraine, amounting to 85 billion Norwegian kroner.

More detailed projections will be published when the full budget is presented later on the same day, the ministry said.
