MOSCOW, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Russia will launch more than 100 spacecraft by the end of this year, local media reported on Friday.

The spacecraft are expected to expand the country's orbital constellation, which is currently composed of more than 240 spacecraft, the TASS news agency reported, citing Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

Russia has launched more than 20 spacecraft to build up the domestic orbital constellation in 2024, he said, adding that a total of 123 spacecraft, including 70 small ones, will be launched this year.

Head of Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos Yury Borisov said earlier this year that Russia plans to carry out over 40 space launches in 2024.
