BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 jolted Volcano Islands, Japan Region at 1932 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 23.46 degrees north latitude and 143.23 degrees east longitude. ■
