NEW DELHI, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday successfully launched its heaviest satellite, CMS-03, on board the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3-M5), officials said.
The launch took place from the second launch pad of Sriharikota, off the Bay of Bengal coast, located in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh at 5:26 p.m. (local time).
According to ISRO, the CMS-03, weighing about 4,400 kg, will be the heaviest communication satellite launched to Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit from Indian soil. ■
