HANOI, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's import turnover of completely built-up (CBU) cars in March increased by 55.4 percent in volume and 41.4 percent in value compared to the previous month, Vietnam News reported Friday.
Vietnam imported about 15,000 CBU cars in March with a value of 287 million U.S. dollars, according to the General Statistics Office.
The office said the strong recovery in CBU car import in March was due to the car import in February falling sharply when businesses stopped all import-export activities during the seven-day Lunar New Year holiday.
In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam imported 31,452 units of CBU worth 632 million dollars, down 25.1 percent in volume and 31.7 percent in value year on year.
The CBU car import is forecast to continuously recover in the second quarter of 2024. ■
