YANGON, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized over 3 tons of methamphetamine (ICE), 30.86 million stimulant tablets and ammunition in Mandalay region and Yangon region, according to Myanmar Police Force on Wednesday.
A combined team consisting of members of the anti-drug police force searched a vehicle in Thazi Township, Mandalay region, on Aug. 13 and confiscated 3 tons of ICE, 29 million stimulant tablets and 20,000 bullets, it said.
According to the interrogation, police seized 1.86 million stimulant tablets and 4.8 kg ICE from the suspect's home in Thingangyun Township, Yangon region, on Aug. 15, it added.
The seized narcotics are worth over 105.37 billion kyats (about 50 million U.S. dollars), said the police.
The suspects were charged under the Southeast Asian country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations were underway, it said. ■
