BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November 2022 increased by 3.1 percent year-on-year, the latest statistical figures released on Saturday showed.

According to the country's Department of Economic Planning and Statistics at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the CPI rise was in line with the increase in Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Non-Food indices by 5.8 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively.

The data showed that the increase in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages component was driven by prices of meat at 12.2 percent, rice, cereals at 5.6 percent, and oil and fats at 21.6 percent.

For period-on-period changes, the overall CPI from January to November 2022 registered an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

CPI is a measure of price changes of goods and services paid by the consumer in a specified period.
