HANOI, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam spent nearly 8.8 billion U.S. dollars on importing completely-built automobiles and components for assembly in the first 11 months of this year, posting a year-on-year increase of 13.8 percent.
Specifically, the country imported 155,852 completely-built automobiles worth nearly 3.5 billion dollars in the 11-month period, up 7.7 percent in volume and 7.2 percent in value, according to the country's Ministry of Industry and Trade on Wednesday.
Last year, Vietnam spent nearly 8.7 billion dollars importing automobiles and components for assembly, up 36.2 percent against 2020, according to the country's General Statistics Office. ■
