TUNIS, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti and Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Afrah al-Zouba discussed Monday the latest developments in Yemen and efforts to contain the crisis, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During a phone call, the two ministers also exchanged views on prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations, the statement said.
Nafti reaffirmed Tunisia's solidarity with the Yemeni people amid Yemen's ongoing crisis and stressed Tunisia's support for Arab and international efforts to end violence and achieve a comprehensive and lasting political settlement of the conflict, it added.
For her part, al-Zouba expressed appreciation for Tunisia's support for Yemen and voiced readiness to strengthen coordination and consultations between the two countries on developments in Yemen and various Arab and regional issues of common interest.
The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Tunisian-Yemeni cooperation in economic, cultural and scientific fields and to enhancing ties between relevant institutions. ■
