OUAGADOUGOU, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Nine people, including six army auxiliaries and three civilians, lost their lives in an attack by armed men in northern Burkina Faso on Saturday, a release from the regional governor said late on Monday.
The statement by David Valentin Ouedraogo, governor of the Nord Region, said armed men raided the Namissiguima village Saturday, caused significant damages and went away with livestock.
"Security sweep operation by the defense and security forces established a death toll at nine, comprising six members of Defense of the Motherland (VDP) unit and three civilians", it said. ■
