BEIRUT/JERUSALEM, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and another wounded on Wednesday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorcycle in southern Lebanon, as Israeli military activities continued across several areas of the country, according to Lebanese sources.
The drone strike targeted a motorcycle in Qabrikha in the Marjayoun district of southeastern Lebanon, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).
The Lebanese Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center confirmed that the strike killed one person and wounded another.
Separately, Israeli artillery shelling targeted the southern towns of Mansouri and Baraachit, while Israeli forces reportedly set fire to houses in Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district in southern Lebanon, NNA reported.
The Israeli military confirmed the strike, saying in a statement that it targeted two people suspected of monitoring Israeli troops deployed in southern Lebanon, claiming they posed a threat to its forces.
Also on Wednesday, during a visit to the northern border, Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir warned that any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild military infrastructure or threaten northern Israel would be met "immediately and forcefully."
The developments came amid continued tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border despite a framework agreement signed by the two countries in June. Israeli forces continue to occupy parts of southern Lebanon despite the U.S.-brokered ceasefire, while Lebanon has demanded a full Israeli withdrawal. ■
