BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- A late goal from Jeremias Lazaro gave Instituto Cordoba a 1-0 home win over Deportivo Riestra in Argentina's Clausura tournament on Monday.
Lazaro held his nerve from the penalty spot after Leonel Mosevich drew a foul from Facundo Mino at El Cilindro.
The visitors barely threatened Instituto's goal, controlling less than a quarter of the possession and having only two shots on target.
Instituto leads the Zone A standings with 32 points from 14 games, five points clear of second-placed Velez Sarsfield. Deportivo Riestra is 13th with 12 points so far.
In Monday's only other fixture, Union Santa Fe breezed to a 3-1 home victory over Estudiantes. ■
