RAMALLAH, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli forces and settlers carried out 409 attacks against Palestinian olive farmers, trees, farmland, and agricultural equipment in the West Bank between Oct. 1 and 21, the Palestinian Liberation Organization's Commission Against the Wall and Settlements said Thursday.

In a statement, the commission said settlers carried out 317 attacks, while the Israeli army conducted 92.

The attacks included preventing farmers from accessing their fields, physical attacks, stealing harvested olives, arson, and destroying trees and agricultural equipment, according to the statement.

The commission documented 287 attacks directly targeting farmers and 122 incidents targeting trees, land, equipment, and other property.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, 90 percent of Gaza's roughly 2 million olive trees had been destroyed since October 2023, while 286,000 in the West Bank had been damaged as of the end of September 2026. ■
