NEW DELHI, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least five workers were killed and five others injured in an explosion at a pharmaceutical factory unit in the western Indian state of Gujarat, officials said Saturday.
The blast took place Friday night at the unit in a Sayakha Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation estate in Bharuch district, about 210 km south of Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat.
The injured were immediately removed to the hospital, said a local government official at the district magistrate's office.
Reports said the blast also caused a leak of methylene dichloride gas. ■
