BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Argentina will face Uruguay and Costa Rica in international friendlies next month, the Albiceleste's first matches in the post-Messi era.
Lionel Scaloni's team will meet Uruguay in Buenos Aires on November 13 and Costa Rica in Cordoba four days later, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) said on Friday.
"In the coming weeks, the kickoff times for each of the matches, the start of ticket sales, and the opening of the media accreditation process will be announced," the AFA statement read.
Lionel Messi, who led Argentina to the 2022 FIFA World Cup title and two Copa America crowns, played his last international match in a 3-0 win over Benin earlier this month.
He retired as Argentina's most capped player with 208 appearances and its all-time leading scorer with 126 goals. ■
