MOSCOW, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Russia will have no difficulty exporting diesel fuel amid strong global demand for petroleum products, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

"Demand is enormous. A huge amount of oil and petroleum products has fallen out of the market ... Therefore, there is no problem with demand in the markets. If only there were supply," he said.

Asked whether Russia had received requests for fuel supplies, Peskov said this was unnecessary, as distribution is conducted via traders.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and announced an agreement under which Russia would supply diesel fuel to the United States and global markets.

On Saturday, the Russian government partially lifted restrictions on diesel fuel exports that had been in effect since the beginning of 2026. ■
