KABUL, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Counter-narcotics police have seized 469 kg of opium and arrested three suspected smugglers in the western Afghan province of Farah, the provincial police office said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, the suspects were attempting to smuggle 469 kg of opium-type illicit drugs from Farah to an undisclosed destination via vehicle on Saturday when police intercepted the consignment and arrested the three individuals.
All three suspects were handed over to the judiciary after the completion of a preliminary investigation, the statement added. ■
