RIYADH, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition said Sunday a projectile had struck a passenger terminal at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
An assault with an unknown projectile struck Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport, coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Malki said on social media platform X.
Air defenses intercepted and destroyed a missile near the airport, and a fire resulting from the attack is being handled at the site, he said.
Blasts were heard Sunday afternoon near the airport, with smoke briefly seen rising, according to a Xinhua correspondent.
The strikes came a day after an attack targeting the same airport killed 12 people and injured 309 others, according to the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation. ■
