YANGON, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar held a ceremony to mark World Post Day in Nay Pyi Taw, the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Saturday.

During the ceremony on Friday, Union Minister for Digital Development and Communications U Mya Tun Oo said that this year's World Post Day theme, "One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities," highlights the role of postal services in connecting people, providing essential services and creating new opportunities worldwide.

In line with its vision of "Myanmar Post for Everyone," Myanmar Post has been upgrading its postal network through technology, expanding its operations and introducing new services.

The union minister urged officials to make greater efforts to provide quality services that benefit the country and its people by making effective use of the nationwide network of more than 800 post offices.

He also stressed that the effective use of digital technologies and the modernization of postal services would help the sector keep pace with changing times and connect more effectively with international markets. ■
