BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Miguel Merentiel scored in the second half as Boca Juniors salvaged a 2-2 draw at Instituto Cordoba in Argentina's Primera Division on Friday.
Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia cancelled out Fernando Alarcon's opener before Jonathan Galvan restored the hosts' lead early in the second half.
Merentiel equalized just before the hour when he latched onto Lautaro Blanco's through ball and finished clinically past Marcos Ledesma.
The result leaves Boca third in the 15-team Zone A standings with 21 points, five behind leader Instituto.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Friday, Sarmiento won 3-1 at Aldosivi, Gimnasia La Plata was held to a 1-1 home draw by Atletico Tucuman and Defensa y Justicia prevailed 2-0 at Union Santa Fe. ■
