SINGAPORE, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's import price index (IPI) rose 1.6 percent month-on-month in August, while its export price index (EPI) grew 1.9 percent, its statistics department said on Tuesday.
The IPI extended the 0.9 percent increase in July and marked a second consecutive month of gains, the department said. The oil index rose 4.8 percent, accelerating from a 1.9 percent rise in July, while the non-oil index increased 0.4 percent.
For the EPI, the oil index climbed 7.1 percent, up from a 0.7 percent increase in July, while the non-oil index rose 0.3 percent, reversing a 0.2 percent decline in the previous month. ■
