NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- China's Wang Xiyu got her Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games tennis campaign off to a dominant start here on Sunday, beating Indonesia's Anjali Junarto 6-0, 6-0 to breeze into the women's singles second round.
Wang needed just 53 minutes to wrap up the victory. The Chinese star was nearly flawless on serve, winning 94 percent of her first-serve points and 64 percent on her second serve.
Dominating on return as well, Wang won 70 percent of return points to keep complete control of the match's tempo. She finished with two aces and two double faults.
"I felt I played pretty well today. I did a bit of scouting beforehand and noticed her forehand was slightly more prone to errors, so I tried to target that," Wang said. "My focus was on executing my tactical details, adapting to the court and conditions, and preparing as best as possible for the next matches."
Wang will face Kazakhstan's Sonja Zhiyenbayeva in the second round. ■
