TOKYO, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Eight students were taken to hospital on Saturday after a traffic accident involving a minibus carrying 12 high school students occurred in central Japan, local media reported.
The bus hit a height limit bar just before an underpass below a railway bridge in Tsu, Mie Prefecture, at around 7:50 a.m. local time. The students were on their way to Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, for a baseball event, Kyodo News reported.
According to police, none of the eight students were in life-threatening condition. The 45-year-old teacher who was driving was not injured.
The minibus, roughly 2.6 meters tall, struck the height limit bar, which was marked with a 2-meter clearance limit. Police were investigating the details of the accident. ■
