ISLAMABAD, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Security forces killed 16 terrorists in separate operations in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province during the past 48 hours, the military's media wing said Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), five terrorists were killed on Thursday during an operation against terrorist hideouts in Shaban, a locality near provincial capital Quetta. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the locations, it said.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Nushki district on Friday, security forces killed 11 terrorists following an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR said.
The military said the operations were part of a comprehensive counter-terrorism campaign against the terrorists.
Since the launch of the operations on Sept. 21, a total of 33 terrorists have been killed in the province, according to the ISPR. ■
