SARAJEVO, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Tuesday adopted a decision to temporarily suspend or reduce customs duties on imports of certain goods until Dec. 31, 2027, to support domestic economy.
Under the Law on Customs Tariffs, the decision covers materials and raw materials used by BiH producers to manufacture finished products for export or to replace imported products, which cannot be procured domestically in the quality and quantities required for production.
The decision covers a range of sectors, including textiles and footwear, chemicals, metals, electrical equipment, food and automobile industries.
Since the Law on Customs Tariffs entered into force, the Council of Ministers has adopted 14 decisions on the temporary suspension or reduction of customs duties on imports of certain goods, which have previously been applied on an annual basis.
Tuesday's decision takes effect upon its adoption and will be published in the Official Gazette of BiH. It will apply from Jan. 1, 2027. ■
