MEXICO CITY, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- America has secured Uruguayan center-back Santiago Bueno on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Mexican club said on Friday.
The 27-year-old, who has almost two years left on his Wolves contract, will be tied to the Mexico City-based team until next June.
Bueno has made 85 appearances across all competitions for Wolves following his August 2023 move from Girona.
He is the latest in a long list of summer signings for the Liga MX club, joining Colombian striker Miguel Borja, Spanish midfielder Carlos Alvarez, Argentine defender Santiago Ramos and American midfielder Edwin Cerrillo, among others.
One of Mexico's most successful clubs, America currently leads the Liga MX Apertura tournament standings with 16 points from its first six games of the season. ■
