MADRID, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Athletic Bilbao scored three second-half goals in a 3-0 home win over Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Saturday.
Atletico Madrid was slightly the better team in the first half, with Pablo Barrios hitting the post shortly before halftime, but Athletic Bilbao started the second half with two goals in two minutes from Nico Williams and Robert Navarro.
Nico was on hand to nod home after a deflected shot from his brother Inaki, who then set up Navarro to cut inside and score with a curling left-footed shot.
Athletic Bilbao then sat deep and limited Atletico to just a single chance, which saw goalkeeper Unai Simon save well from Julian Alvarez, before Oihan Sancet scored in the 90th minute on the counterattack.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winning goal as Deportivo A Coruna fought back for a 3-2 win away to Villarreal.
Nicolas Pepe put Villarreal ahead in the 19th minute, but Luismi Cruz equalized before halftime after an assist from Aubameyang.
Adama Traore then had an own goal on his debut to put Villarreal back in front, but Villarreal was guilty of twice gifting the ball to Deportivo to equalize and then win the game, with Zakaria Eddahchouri making it 2-2 and Aubameyang hitting the winner with two minutes left to play.
Sergio Camello scored two goals as Rayo Vallecano twice came back from behind to win 3-2 at home to Racing Santander.
Sergio Canales and Pablo Garcia had twice given Racing the lead, but Rayo turned it around through Andrei Ratiu and Camello. Rayo's Fran Garcia and Jorge de Frutos both saw red cards for protesting.
Real Betis and Real Madrid opened the fourth round of games on Friday, with Troy Parrott scoring the only goal of the game in the 81st minute to give Betis a 1-0 win and inflict the first defeat on Jose Mourinho's return to Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe hit the bar and Carlos Espi had an overhead kick ruled out for offside, while Betis goalkeeper Alvaro Valles made several saves, including one on Mbappe's injury-time penalty. ■
