KATHMANDU, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and five others, including a high court chief judge and a senior court official, were injured when a sports utility vehicle fell off a highway in central Nepal's Makwanpur district on Tuesday morning, police said.
The vehicle, en route to Birgunj from Kathmandu, went out of control and plunged into a ravine, resulting in the accident.
"A woman who was airlifted to Kathmandu died in the course of treatment," Madhav Kafle, spokesperson for the district police office in Makwanpur, told Xinhua.
Three people are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Kathmandu, Kafle said, adding that preparations were underway to airlift the remaining injured to Kathmandu for further treatment. ■
