DAMASCUS, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Israeli warplanes carried out eight airstrikes early Tuesday on the runway of the Abu al-Duhur military airport in Idlib province in northwestern Syria, causing material damage but no casualties, Syrian state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV reported, citing a military source.
The strikes targeted the airport's runway in the eastern countryside of Idlib and damaged infrastructure at the facility, the source said.
There was no immediate comment from Israel on the strikes.
The Abu al-Duhur military airport is located near the town of Abu al-Duhur, roughly 27 km east of Saraqeb. It is situated near routes linking parts of Idlib, Aleppo and Hama provinces, with areas extending toward Syria's central desert. ■
