BAKU, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan's crude oil and natural gas exports accounted for about two-thirds of the country's total exports in the first seven months of 2026, according to data released by the State Customs Committee on Monday.
During the period, the country exported 12.72 million tons of crude oil and 14.43 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
Crude oil exports were valued at 8.03 billion U.S. dollars, up 4.86 percent year on year, despite a 12.08 percent decline in volume. Natural gas exports totaled 4.88 billion dollars, with volume rising 0.12 percent and value falling 7.3 percent.
Italy was the largest destination for Azerbaijani crude oil exports, receiving 7.47 million tons worth 4.56 billion dollars, followed by the Czech Republic and Romania.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's total exports surged 27 percent year on year to 19.34 billion dollars, while imports plummeted 27.4 percent to 9.88 billion dollars. ■
