PERTH, Australia, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Inter Milan extended its unbeaten run in preseason with a 2-1 victory over Juventus on Saturday, handing its archrival its first defeat of the offseason.
Inter had drawn 1-1 with AC Milan at the same venue in its previous match, while Juventus entered the game after a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in Hong Kong, China.
The reigning Serie A champion opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Ange-Yoan Bonny cut the ball back from the left for Federico Dimarco, who swept a first-time finish into the net. It was the first goal Juventus had conceded this preseason.
Inter doubled its advantage in the 62nd minute as Pio Esposito set up Andy Diouf, who fired home from inside the area.
Juventus pulled a goal back in the 85th minute when Francisco Conceicao beat the offside trap before rounding goalkeeper Josep Martinez and finishing into an empty net, but the comeback came too late.
Inter now returns to Italy to continue preparations for the new season, while Juventus will remain in Perth for another friendly against Filippo Inzaghi's Palermo. ■
