KABUL, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and another injured in a blast during mining operations in Afghanistan's Nuristan province, local media outlet Tolo news reported Sunday.
According to the report, the incident occurred in the Pachi Gram area of Barg-e-Matal district, where one person was killed at the scene and another was injured. The injured person was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, the report said.
The cause of the blast and further details about the mining operation were not immediately available. ■
