QUITO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Ecuador will meet Japan in an October friendly as part of the next FIFA international window, the South American country's football federation said on Thursday.
The match will be played at Yokohama's International Stadium, near Tokyo, on October 1.
Ecuador will also meet either Panama or New Zealand at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo four days later, according to a federation statement.
The fixtures will be preceded by another friendly against South Korea at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on September 24.
They will be Ecuador's first matches since the team was eliminated from the FIFA World Cup in the round of 32 by co-host Mexico in July.
The team is still without a manager after the departure of Argentina's Sebastian Beccacece at the end of the tournament. ■
