JAKARTA, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday inaugurated the mass signing of subsidized housing loans for 62,000 homes, involving financing worth 880 billion rupiah (about 48.7 million U.S. dollars), as part of efforts to expand access to decent housing for low-income families.

The hybrid event, held in Batang regency, Central Java province, involved beneficiaries at 165 locations across 36 provinces.

The program covers subsidized home ownership loans and housing-related People's Business Loans aimed at supporting home ownership and strengthening financing for the national housing sector.

"We want all Indonesians to have decent homes. Therefore, we are working hard through various programs and continuing to seek the best ways to increase the number of homes available to the public," Prabowo said.

During the event, Prabowo spoke by video link with beneficiaries in several regions and symbolically handed over house keys and assistance to selected recipients.
