MACAO, July 28 (Xinhua) -- The Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government on Tuesday released a summary report on the public consultation for the Third Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao SAR (2026-2030).
According to the report, the 40-day consultation period collected 1,716 submissions containing 8,230 opinions, with positive feedback accounting for 92.1 percent of the total.
In terms of areas drawing the most public attention, the largest number of opinions focused on "the strengthening and optimizing of people's livelihoods," followed by "advancing appropriate economic diversification" and "the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin."
The bureau said the SAR government attaches great importance to opinions and suggestions from all sectors of society and residents. Feasible suggestions that have gained broad consensus will be incorporated into the final version of the five-year plan, and those not included will also serve as references for future policymaking in related areas.
The SAR government released the consultation document for the plan on May 19, with the public consultation launched on May 20 and lasting 40 days. ■
