KATHMANDU, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Nepal posted a 15.88 percent rise in foreign trade in the recently concluded fiscal year 2025-26, a government report said on Thursday.

In an annual report, the Department of Customs said Nepal's total trade volume in the previous fiscal year stood at 2.41 trillion Nepalese rupees (15.6 billion U.S. dollars), up from 2.08 trillion rupees in the fiscal year 2024-25. Imports saw an increment of 16.20 percent, standing at 2.09 trillion rupees, up from 1.80 trillion rupees a year earlier.

Likewise, exports jumped by 13.81 percent to 315.29 billion rupees in the previous fiscal year from 277.03 billion in 2024-25. The previous fiscal year ended on July 16. (1,000 Nepali rupees equals 6.5 U.S. dollars)
