MADRID, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Real Betis' Brazilian winger Antony is looking forward to helping his team in its Champions League campaign next season, German newspaper Bild reported on Wednesday.
"For the club and our fans, this is something very special. They've been waiting for this moment for many years," he said in an interview with Bild.
The 26-year-old said he knew the step up to the Champions League was a "big challenge," but that the team aimed to "represent Betis in the best possible way and give our all in every match."
"The fans can expect a team that plays with great passion and enormous commitment," he promised.
Antony also discussed his decision to join Betis after struggling at Manchester United.
"At that time, I was going through a difficult period in my life and I needed a place where I could be happy again, not only as a footballer, but also as a person. I felt that Betis was exactly the right club for me. That's why I don't regret this decision at all," he said. ■
