TEHRAN, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Explosions were heard Monday night in southern Iran's Sirik County and the port city of Bandar Abbas, and air defenses were activated in the nuclear power plant in southern Iran's port city of Bushehr, according to Iranian media reports.
The incidents occurred as U.S. Central Command announced Monday night a new round of strikes against Iran on social media platform X, saying the strikes are designed "to further degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz." ■
