HANOI, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Seven people, including three children, were killed and five others injured after a passenger coach caught fire following a crash in Vietnam's southern Dong Nai city early Tuesday, local daily VnExpress reported.
The accident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. when the 24-seat sleeper coach was traveling along National Highway 1 and crashed into a roadside barrier near a T-junction in Hung Thinh commune.
The impact sparked a fire at the front entrance of the vehicle, preventing passengers from escaping, local daily Tuoi Tre reported.
The coach was quickly engulfed in flames and reduced to a charred shell, the report added.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. ■
