NEW DELHI, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Several persons were injured in a stampede during a religious event in India's eastern state of Odisha on Thursday.
The incident was reported from Odisha's Puri area during an annual religious event earlier in the day. A huge crowd congregated for the religious event when the stampede occurred.
The injured persons were shifted to nearby hospitals. No further details were immediately available. ■
