JAKARTA, July 16 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and four others seriously injured after a sport utility vehicle crashed into a parked truck on a toll road in Indonesia's East Java province late Wednesday, local police said Thursday.
Police told local media that a Honda CR-V was traveling from Malang to Surabaya when it reportedly veered onto the hard shoulder after the driver lost concentration, struck a guardrail and then crashed into the rear of a stationary truck.
Four occupants of the vehicle died at the scene, while another later died in hospital. The four injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The truck driver was unharmed.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Driver fatigue and loss of concentration are among the suspected factors. ■
