BEIJING, July 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted East of South Sandwich Islands at 1451 GMT on Wednesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 60.12 degrees south latitude and 18.85 degrees west longitude. ■
