MEXICO CITY, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Ecuadorian forward Enner Valencia has parted ways with Pachuca, less than a year after returning to the Mexican club.
Valencia scored eight goals in 22 matches across all competitions after joining the Liga MX side for a second time last September. He netted 18 times in 25 games during his first six-month spell in 2014.
"Enner, thank you for all the effort and talent you gave while wearing this badge and for becoming an important part of our history," Pachuca said in a statement on Wednesday.
"We wish you every success in your future endeavors, confident that your legacy will remain in the hearts of our supporters."
Valencia, 36, was part of the Ecuador team that was last week eliminated from the World Cup by Mexico in the round of 32. He later announced his international retirement.
The former West Ham and Everton attacker is Ecuador's all-time leading scorer with 49 goals in 109 international matches. ■
