NEW DELHI, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Indian stock markets, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), fell by over 2 percent on Wednesday, said local media reports.
While the Sensex crashed by 1,677.12 points, or 2.15 percent, to 76,503.60, the Nifty fell by 516.65 points, or 2.12 percent, to 23,882.05, according to their respective official websites.
"These are the biggest percentage drops for the benchmarks in more than two months," said an online report by Hindustan Times.
The stock markets' crash was attributed to the fresh global tensions after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to attack Iran once again. ■
