JAKARTA, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded around 107.34 million U.S. dollars in transaction value through an online business matching program for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) during the January-April period this year, the Ministry of Trade said.
The ministry has been using digital platforms as a strategy to expand global market access for MSMEs without relying solely on costly conventional promotional activities, said Ari Satria, an official with the ministry.
The program is supported by a network of 46 Indonesian trade representatives in 33 countries, which serve as facilitators between local businesses and international buyers.
Last year, the ministry organized 662 online pitching and business matching events, generating nearly 135 million dollars in realized and potential export transactions. ■
