KABUL, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have seized a huge quantity of illicit drugs, including 16 kg of methamphetamine and thousands of stimulant tablets and arrested four drug smugglers, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said Tuesday.
The contraband, which included 16 kg of methamphetamine, 3 kg of hashish, 10,000 stimulant tablets locally known as (Tablet K) and other illegal drugs during a series of operations recently, according to a statement posted on the ministry's X account.
The Afghan government has intensified the war against illegal drugs, as earlier police reported the discovery and smashing of a drug-processing lab in the southern Helmand province and the destruction of 400 acres of poppy farms in the western Farah province a couple of days ago. ■
